Clear Path Labs links location technology with the management of digital content. Their flagship product - Clear Path Explore® (CPE) - integrates media and metadata with maps, and is designed for the workflow-oriented GIS professional (e.g. mining and energy).

CPX is typical of web-based digital content management systems, but also includes a location component and a web-service based Application Programming Interface (API).

The client side "presentation layer" is browser-based, and includes mobile clients. The server side "backend" consists of a spatially-enabled relational database which hosts metadata and media, while maps are served via various interfaces (e.g. AGO, WMS, ArcGIS Server, etc.). CPX supports ESRI’s ArcGIS Server and employs a proprietary CPX ArcObjects Extension that enables ArcGIS Desktop applications to manage CPX objects, and CPX to manage ArcGIS objects.
